My River. - New York, NY : Scholastic, Inc, 1992.

Different animals who live in or around a river take turns explaining that the river belongs to them and to everyone else, and that they all need the river. Even the plants and flowers plead their case by saying, "This is where we grow." The final two characters, a boy and a girl, conculde the story by shouting, "It's everyone's river!" The implied message in the book is that since everyone has a claim to the river, everyone also shares in the responsibility to protect it.
