THE DANGER OF LIVING 'DOWN LOW' -- "Some men of all races, not just blacks, secretly have sex with men. But for many reasons, the problem is particularly troublesome for those battling the AIDS epidemic in the black community." (USA TODAY) This article reveals the high risks of black men who, unbeknownst to their partners, engage in promiscuous bisexual activity. THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ST. RUFUS -- "In February [2001], federal health officials issued a major report that in six of the nation's biggest cities, 30 percent of black men who sleep with men (MSM) in their 20s have HIV." (POZ) This article profiles the experiences of Rufus Milliam, whose example is becoming increasingly typical of how young black men are hiding their bisexuality and, consequently, are triggering a rise in the sexually transmitted disease rate of the black community.
