"Border disputes often spoiled neighborly relations throughout the nineteenth century. Since World War I, however, Canada and the United States have stood together, from fighting the kaiser to saving the world from Nazism and communism. As we enter a new century, it is time to examine how Canada is holding itself together, the state of Canadian-American relations, and the nature of Canadian military." (WORLD & I) This article examines Canada's relationship with the United States and presents insight into Canada's border solidarity, regionalism and national security policy.
