520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. "The images are all too familiar--planes crashing, buildings collapsing, dark smoke pluming, people running. For many in the New York metropolitan area, it was a reality rather than an image. Directly or indirectly, everyone in the area was exposed to the attacks of September 11, and the result is a public mental health crisis. The effects on children are of particular concern, and the faculty and staff of the New York University Child Study Center have been working to address their needs." (HARVARD MENTAL HEALTH LETTER) The authors detail how mental health service providers are challenged to provide programs to help children affected by traumatic events.
