The author explains that "problems with natural gas loom over the long term. Natural gas consumers face the prospect of high prices in the future, due not to market forces but to a set of skewed government policies that seek to push up demand while keeping off limits vast supplies of natural gas that could meet this demand. Unless this situation is changed, a supply shortage could emerge that would push up prices permanently." (CONSUMERS' RESEARCH)
