"As the lights go on and off in California with increasing regularity and the price of oil and natural gas remains on an upward climb, the use of alternative energy is again gaining more attention....But to date, solar power has not proven itself economically viable." (SUN-SENTINEL) The author expresses America's growing interest in solar electricity and proposes that Floridians would be excellent candidates for such power if companies could cut material costs and increase the efficiency of solar panels.
