"At the beginning of the twenty-first century, natural gas continues to be the fastest growing component of primary world energy consumption. Natural gas is environmentally attractive because it emits less sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, and particulate matter than does oil or coal. And the global trend towards deregulated power generation and clean energy has transformed the prospects for developing gas resources." (INTERNATIONALE POLITIK) The author defines why natural gas is gaining global interest and notes how the Gulf states are fast expanding their output.
