"By the 2030s, over half the adult population of today's developed countries will be near or beyond today's eligibility age for publicly financed retirement. When that time comes, who'll be doing the work, paying the taxes, supporting the millions of people in retirement? The late U.S. Sen. Paul Tsongas warned that, as increased resources are expended on the older 'haves' at the expense of the younger 'have-nots,' an intergenerational war would ensue. Is this a real concern?
