TODAY'S ARAB ISRAELIS, TOMORROW'S ISRAEL -- "The struggle that Israeli Jews had long imagined was between their superior state and an inferior Palestinian Arab movement over a West Bank/Gaza Strip entity has relapsed into its essential pre-1948 condition." (POLICY REVIEW) This article examines how the growing Arab minority in Israel is heightening the country's Arab/Jewish ethnic conflict. BEYOND THE PALE -- "Thirteen Israeli Arabs died in the riots which wracked the north of the country last October [2000], and with them the illusion that peaceful coexistence with the Jewish majority could be taken for granted. Now Israel's 'Palestinian citizens' must reckon with the future." (JERUSLEM POST) This article reveals that the ethnic tension will likely persist as long as inequality exists between the Jewish majority and the Arab minority in Israel.
