"In many villages where micro-hydropower units (MHU) have been constructed in South Asia, the primary reason to have electricity is simply to have light. According to one village elder in Afghanistan who had recently been able to turn on two tube lights as the result of a small traditional mill turbine (TMT) project constructed by the International Assistance Mission, 'Electricity is half of life!'."
