This article profiles Kathie Scobee Fulgham, daughter of astronaut Dick Scobee who perished in the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger in 1986. The author relates how Fulgham interviewed friends of her father and preserved their stories on tape, which helped her through the grieving process. In turn, Fulgham has since reached out to help grieving children who lost parents in the Sept. 11, 2001, tragedy.
